HACU's Wall of Pride

HACU’s Washington, D.C. office in 2017 decided to hang a handful of school pennants from HACU member institutions and Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), and it is now coined the "HACU Wall of Pride." After an ongoing social media campaign, we now have over 130 pennants on the Wall of Pride.  The ultimate goal is to have every HSI represented – to date there are 532 HSIs.

The purpose of the wall is so visitors can visually see all the HSIs that HACU represents, and also serves as a great reminder for staff of the institutions that we advocate for on a daily basis.  The image above shows a portion of Wall of Pride.  If your institution would like to be added to the Wall of Pride, we encourage you to mail your school pennant to our DC office.  Once the school pennant is received, we recognize the institution with a social media post on the @HACUDC Twitter account.

National HSI Week

The school pennants have also used during National HSI Week to highlight the HSIs that a Member of Congress represents.  This helps elevate and bring awareness around the growing number of HSIs, and HACU will contunue to do this for future National HSI Weeks.  Below is a photo from last year.
